Veracruz Public Security Agency Announces Police Recruitment and Conducts Large Drug‑Seizure Operation

The Veracruz State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) announced a recruitment drive for the state police, inviting Mexican nationals aged 18‑39 with at least a high‑school education to undergo a comprehensive selection, training and evaluation program. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend during training and, upon completion, a career position with a salary of 20,460 pesos and benefits such as social security and retirement plans.

Separately, SSP, together with the Navy, National Defense, National Guard and other authorities, carried out coordinated operations across 25 municipalities over a weekend. The actions rescued eight victims of illegal confinement and virtual kidnapping, seized roughly 350 doses of illicit substances, confiscated firearms, vehicles and electronic equipment, and detained 19 individuals, including two minors. The seized items were handed over to the state prosecutor for further investigation.
