Veracruz showcases heritage tours and Macroplaza rally hub for Pan American race

The Veracruz state government’s Culturabús program brought tourists from seven Mexican states to the historic centre of Veracruz over a weekend. Participants visited the Casa Museo Benito Juárez and the Centro Cultural Leyes de Reforma, with roughly 100 visitors at the museum and 120 at the cultural centre, totaling about 220 people. Aracely Batalla Álvarez, director of the Casa Museo, highlighted the initiative as a model of institutional collaboration to promote the city’s memory and art.

The city’s Macroplaza, a concrete space built in 1902 during the Porfiriato, now serves as a versatile venue for cultural, artistic and sporting events. It is the main gathering point for the Pan American race, offering spectators a view of the Gulf of Mexico and the bustling port. The Veracruz government continues to support the site, reinforcing its role in the region’s tourism and motor‑sport heritage.
