Veracruz authorities issue arrest warrant in doctor's feminicide
An arrest warrant has been issued for Lenin Salvador “N”, the former partner of Dr. Cristina Ramos Argüello, who is the primary suspect in her feminicide. The doctor, 31-34, was found dead on October 15 in her residence in the Santa Cecilia neighborhood of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. She worked as a specialist at the IMSS-Bienestar and ISSSTE hospitals.
Veracruz State Attorney General Lisbeth Aurelia Jiménez Aguirre confirmed that the investigation is proceeding under a feminicide protocol with a gender perspective. Surveillance footage from the residential complex reportedly captured the suspect arriving at the apartment and leaving shortly after the crime.
Lenin Salvador, a 21-year-old law student and tennis instructor, remains at large. Authorities are conducting search operations to locate him. The victim's family and colleagues held funeral services in her hometown of Paso del Macho, where they demanded justice and an end to impunity regarding gender-based violence in the region.
