Vercelli hosts Risò International Rice Festival

The Risò – Festival Internazionale del Riso will take place in Vercelli from September 11 to 13. Organized by the Municipality and Province of Vercelli in collaboration with the Ente Nazionale Risi, the event aims to promote Vercelli and Italian rice as symbols of cultural heritage and international development.

The festival features a diverse program including talks, tours, and workshops. Notable participants include the CIA (Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori), which will host events regarding the future of the European rice sector and climate change impacts on rice cultivation. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for September 11 with the presence of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Additionally, the Fondazione Marazzato will participate as a partner, hosting an exhibition of historic machinery and vintage tractors. The foundation will also manage an 'Area Kids' for children and offer virtual reality experiences to combine historical memory with modern technology.
