Verón-Punta Cana implements new educational district and road safety programs
The Verón-Punta Cana municipal district is implementing new administrative and educational initiatives to address the region's rapid growth. The Ministry of Education has confirmed the creation of the 12-05 Educational District, which will allow the area to manage its own educational affairs independently from Higüey. This new structure aims to streamline administrative processes for students, improve school supervision, and allow for localized educational planning to accommodate a growing student population.
In conjunction with these administrative changes, the Verón-Punta Cana Board of Vocals, led by President Uridy Marte, is launching a road safety education program for high school students. The initiative seeks to promote a culture of prevention and responsibility, specifically targeting accident prevention among young motorcycle users. The program will be coordinated with the 12-01 Educational District and the General Directorate of Transit and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) to provide guidance on traffic laws, driver duties, and the consequences of non-compliance.
