Verón-Punta Cana officials propose new infrastructure and traffic regulations

The Verón-Punta Cana Municipal District Council is moving forward with several initiatives to address urban growth and public safety. Mayor Ramón Antonio Ramírez announced that the municipality has made recovered land available to the General Directorate of Transit and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) to facilitate the construction of a dedicated headquarters for the agency.

In an upcoming council session, officials will also consider several regulatory measures, including a request to prohibit vehicle parking on Jerusalén Avenue to improve circulation and a proposal to ban heavy vehicles from Domingo de la Cruz Avenue. Additionally, the council will review a request for the installation of a fuel station within the municipal district and a potential land donation for a headquarters for the Dominican Institute for Occupational Risk Prevention and Protection (IDOPPRIL).
