Verónica Alcocer accused of leading illegal network and drug trafficking
Eva Ferrer, a former presidential advisor, has leveled serious allegations against Verónica Alcocer, the former first lady of Colombia and former partner of President Gustavo Petro. In an interview with Revista Semana, Ferrer accused Alcocer of leading an illegal organization involved in the trafficking of money, drugs, and weapons.
Key allegations include the use of official aircraft to transport $2.5 million in cash from Venezuela to Colombia in January 2023. Ferrer also claimed Alcocer attempted to collect 50,000 euros in undeclared funds linked to Diego Marín Buitrago during the 2022 presidential campaign. Additionally, Ferrer alleged that Alcocer was involved in money laundering operations in Spain and Italy.
In response to the claims, Abelardo de la Espriella has called for an investigation by the Air Force to determine if official assets were misused. Meanwhile, Antonella Petro, daughter of Alcocer, has publicly defended her mother on social media, dismissing the accusations as slander.
