Vertiv CoolChip CDU earns NVIDIA DSX Ready designation

Vertiv has announced that its 2.3 MW CoolChip CDU 2300 has earned the NVIDIA DSX Ready designation. This marks the first time a coolant distribution unit (CDU) of this type has achieved this status under the NVIDIA program.

The certification applies to a liquid-to-liquid unit designed to manage the temperature and flow of liquid used to dissipate heat from high-density computing hardware. The unit supports both direct-to-chip cooling and rear-door heat exchanger setups, with installation options including the end of a rack or along the perimeter of a room.

The NVIDIA DSX Ready program is intended to help builders of AI factories identify power and cooling products that meet specific requirements within the NVIDIA DSX AI Factory Platform. As AI workloads increase rack density and strain infrastructure, Scott Armul, Vertiv’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, noted that compute, power, and cooling decisions must now be made through a more integrated approach to data center infrastructure.
