Veterinary office finds animal welfare violations in Bulgarian transport

Authorities in Langenau, located in the Alb-Donau-Kreis, have identified significant animal welfare violations during an inspection of a small animal transport originating from Bulgaria. The vehicle was carrying dogs and cats intended for delivery to multiple buyers in Germany.

According to the Ulm Police Headquarters, several animals appeared frightened or apathetic, and there was insufficient water provided to meet required standards. Due to the severity of the findings, the transport was halted. The animals were taken to an animal shelter for further assessment and coordination with the veterinary office. During the process, one dog was deemed unfit for transport and was seized by authorities.
