Argentina road concessions: Three groups to control 60% of toll revenue

Following the adjudication of approximately 9,000 kilometers of national routes, private concessionaires are projected to collect an estimated $518 billion annually in toll revenue. This privatization scheme involves 20-year contracts and is expected to be managed without public subsidies, as Vialidad Nacional has stated that companies must sustain operations through their own resources and corridor income.

Three major business groups are expected to concentrate nearly 60% of this total revenue. The Grupo Cartellone holds the largest estimated share, with projected annual revenues of $135 billion across various corridors. The second largest share belongs to a consortium including Concret Nor, Marcalba, Pose, and Coarco, with an estimated $128 billion in annual billing. A third group, consisting of Basaa and Cecosa, is projected to collect $36 billion annually via the Tramo Puntano.
