Viana do Castelo launches bulky waste pilot project

Viana do Castelo is launching a pilot project for the controlled disposal of bulky waste. Starting in November, the initiative involves the Municipalized Services of Viana do Castelo (SMVC) and 16 local parishes and unions of parishes.

The project will provide rotating industrial containers in designated areas to facilitate proper waste disposal and prevent illegal dumping. Each parish will provide a space for the containers and assign a person to monitor the process to prevent misuse. SMVC inspection teams will also monitor the execution to ensure compliance with usage conditions.

The first phase includes several areas such as Carvoeiro, Barroselas, Vila Franca, Vila Fria, Vila de Punhe, Alvarães, São Romão de Neiva, Mazarefes, Geraz do Lima and Deão, Castelo do Neiva, Vila Nova de Anha, and Freixieiro de Soutelo.
