CP Radhakrishnan visits Tamil Nadu for university convocations

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan is conducting a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, attending major academic convocations and releasing a commemorative book. During the 22nd convocation of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), the Vice President urged graduates to adopt a ‘Nation First – Rashtra Pratham’ principle and emphasized the importance of strategic technologies like AI, quantum computing, and biotechnology in shaping the future economy.

Addressing the students, Radhakrishnan expressed deep concern regarding a recent student murder in Coimbatore, which some allege was linked to whistleblowing on drug trade, though police have cited personal enmity. He administered an anti-drug pledge and urged the youth to shun substance abuse. He also highlighted the expansion of higher education in India and the increasing enrollment of women.

In addition to the SRMIST event, the Vice President traveled to Tiruchirappalli to attend the 11th convocation of the Central University of Tamil Nadu. During his visit, he also released ‘Echoes of a Nationalist Mind’, a compilation of the writings of the late R. Ramagopalan, founder of the Hindu Munnani.
