Vice-President Radhakrishnan addresses 2024 IAS officer trainees

Indian Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed the valedictory programme for the 2024-batch IAS officer trainees at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. During the ceremony marking the completion of Phase-II training, Radhakrishnan noted that women constitute approximately 41 per cent of the 2024 IAS batch, describing the representation as a testimony to ‘Nari Shakti’.

Radhakrishnan emphasized that civil servants act as a vital link between government policy and grassroots implementation. He urged the new officers to prioritize inclusive and equitable development to support the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’, ensuring that progress reaches the most disadvantaged citizens.

The Vice-President advised the trainees to adopt ‘Sevabhav’ (spirit of service) and ‘Kartavyabodh’ (sense of duty) as professional guiding principles. He also encouraged the use of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain, to enhance the transparency and efficiency of public services. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of ethical leadership, teamwork, and continuous learning to meet evolving administrative challenges.
