Vice President Radhakrishnan highlights Northeast India's role in national growth
Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan has emphasized the strategic and cultural importance of Northeast India, describing the region as an integral part of the nation and a key driver of India’s growth.
During a session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Radhakrishnan highlighted the impact of the ‘Act East’ policy and noted that the Union Budget allocated over Rs 6,800 crore to the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). He identified Arunachal Pradesh as a vital guardian of India’s borders and a leader in kiwi fruit production.
In Manipur, the Vice President visited the INA Museum in Moirang to honor the Indian National Army’s role in the freedom struggle. He paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at the site where the Indian Tricolour was first hoisted on the mainland in 1944. While interacting with cadets at Sainik School Imphal, he stressed that India’s diverse languages and traditions are united by a shared national identity.
