Vicenza and Padua unveil 2026‑27 theatre and opera seasons
The Teatro Comunale di Vicenza announced its 2026‑2027 program, running from 27 October 2026 to 3 June 2027 and comprising more than 100 events across dance, drama, music, circus and jazz, as well as inclusion projects. The season opens with the Australian band Dirty Three and closes with the American Ballet Theatre’s ABT Studio Company. Highlights include a national debut of the Serbian National Theatre Ballet’s Giselle, performances by Parsons Dance, São Paulo Dance Company, and a series of prose productions featuring Andrea Pennacchi, Silvio Orlando, Marco Paolini and others.
The Comune di Padova presented its 2026 Lirica season, a four‑opera series beginning on 29 July 2026 with Cavalleria rusticana performed by the Orchestra of Padova and Veneto under Marco Angius. The cast includes Isaa Kolosova as Santuzza, Eduardo Nia as Turiddu and baritone Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar as Alfio. Subsequent productions are Pagliacci (20‑22 November) and La traviata (28‑31 December), concluding with a New Year’s concert on 1 January 2027. The program collaborates with the Opera Festival of Bassano del Grappa, the Castello Festival and features a rare page by Luciano Berio.
