Vicky Foods invests 19 million euros to expand Algeria plant
Vicky Foods has invested 19 million euros to expand its production plant in Sig, Algeria. The expansion includes a new warehouse and two new production lines dedicated to sponge cake sheets and bread, effectively doubling the facility's production capacity.
The project features a new building exceeding 10,000 square meters across two levels. It also incorporates a new analysis laboratory and a product development laboratory to enhance innovation and quality control. The sponge cake line, which began operations in July, adds 7,000 tons of annual capacity for products such as mini snacks and various cake formats. A bread production line, expected to operate this October, will add 8,000 tons of capacity for hamburger buns, sliced bread, and other varieties.
CEO Rafael Juan stated that this investment reinforces the company's commitment to Algeria and continues its international industrial growth strategy. The expansion is also expected to create approximately 100 new jobs in the short to medium term.
