Victor Marx claims to have battled demons in Colorado campaign

Victor Marx, the Republican nominee for governor of Colorado, has drawn attention for a series of extraordinary claims detailed in his 2024 book, ‘The Dangerous Gentleman: A Call for Men to be Courageous in a Culture of Fear.’

In the book, Marx describes a skirmish in Myanmar where he claims to have defeated more than ten men using only a plastic trainer blade. He also recounts encounters with individuals he describes as being possessed by demons, including claims that a man developed ‘pointy’ ears and ‘superhuman strength’ and that a teenage girl ‘turned reptilian’ before his eyes.

A Marine veteran and Christian Nationalist evangelist, Marx has built a career around similar improbable stories. He claims to possess high-level martial arts skills and has suggested he has used them to rescue tens of thousands of people from global conflict zones. Additionally, Marx has claimed he can perform exorcisms to banish homosexuality and sells an eight-part course on how to become an exorcist.
