Victoria hosts upcoming film and cocktail arts festivals
The Victoria Film Festival is hosting ‘The Art of the Cocktail’ on October 24 at Crystal Garden. The event features a 1930s theme, designed to celebrate local hospitality and the arts community through a nostalgic lens of the era.
Expected to draw approximately 1,000 attendees, the event involves dozens of local bars and restaurants showcasing new cocktail creations. The venue will be transformed to reflect the grandeur of a 1930s hotel.
Separately, the Antimatter festival is returning for its 29th year, running from October 15 to 25. The festival will showcase 136 artists’ films from 31 countries, featuring 21 programs. Screenings will take place at Deluge Contemporary Art in downtown Victoria, with subsequent 24-hour global streaming access available via the Antimatter website.
