Cultural and arts events in Victoria

Overview

Victoria is hosting a series of cultural, musical, and arts-focused events throughout late 2026.

In mid-September, the city held the 21st annual Anarchist Bookfair, which included a community dinner and an all-ages rap show. Other scheduled performances included an Aretha Franklin tribute concert at the Royal Theatre and the play ‘Women of the Fur Trade’ at the Belfry Theatre, alongside various local festivals and the Terry Fox Run.

By October, the focus shifted to film and hospitality arts. The Antimatter festival returned for its 29th year, showcasing 136 films from 31 countries. Additionally, the Victoria Film Festival organized ‘The Art of the Cocktail,’ a 1930s-themed event at Crystal Garden designed to celebrate the local hospitality and arts community.
