Victoria University and University of Victoria earn top national rankings

Victoria University has been ranked as the second-best university in Uganda according to the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Revised Institutional Ranking Report. Scoring 87.4 points, the institution placed behind Makerere University and ahead of Kampala International University. The NCHE assessment utilized seven dimensions, including enrolment vibrancy, programme viability, graduate training strength, gender balance, and STEM participation.

In Canada, the University of Victoria (UVic) has been named the second-best mid-sized university by Maclean’s magazine in its 2027 annual rankings. UVic, which falls within the mid-sized category of 10,000 to 30,000 full-time students, ranked first in Canada for research impact among its peer group. The Maclean’s evaluation focused on student resources, student experience, faculty quality, and reputation.
