Vidya Balan revealed as Kantha in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2

Sun Pictures has released the first look of actress Vidya Balan in the upcoming film ‘Jailer 2’, the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster. Balan will portray a character named Kantha.

The character introduction video features Balan in a blue saree, presenting a commanding and intense persona. The glimpse includes a brief dialogue in Tamil and a background score composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film will see the return of Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Other cast members include SJ Suryah, who plays Bodhi, and Suraj Venjaramoodu, who portrays Dileep. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 15, 2026.
