Vienna police arrest multiple suspects in drug trafficking operations

Vienna police, through the Street Crime Combatting Task Force (EGS), have conducted several operations targeting drug sales in public spaces, resulting in multiple arrests.

At Reumannplatz, authorities detained a 16-year-old Slovak national accused of selling marijuana and a 21-year-old Syrian national acting as a lookout. Police seized marijuana and cocaine during the operation. Both suspects were transferred to a judicial institution by order of the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office.

In a separate incident at Keplerplatz, a 37-year-old Algerian national was arrested for selling marijuana. During the arrest, the suspect attempted to discard drugs and required physical force to be detained. Authorities also seized cash and issued a ban on entering the Keplerplatz protection zone; it was noted the suspect was residing in the country illegally.

A third arrest involved a 32-year-old Gambian national who sold marijuana to an undercover officer. Police seized approximately 13 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of cocaine, over 16 ecstasy tablets, and cash. Investigations into these cases are ongoing.
