A 67-year-old taxi driver was assaulted and robbed in the Floridsdorf district of Vienna. While stopped on Oswald-Redlich-Straße, the driver was struck in the head and subsequently threatened by an individual with an object resembling a firearm. Two assailants fled toward a nearby municipal housing complex after stealing the driver's wallet. The victim, suffering from a head injury, reported the incident personally to a police station in Floridsdorf before being hospitalized.
In a separate incident occurring approximately three hours earlier in the Donaustadt area, a 30-year-old man was threatened with a knife and robbed of an electric scooter on Donauinsel. Police special unit WEGA apprehended a 21-year-old Syrian national in connection with this robbery. The suspect, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, refused to provide a statement. The stolen scooter was recovered and returned to its owner. The investigation into the taxi driver's robbery remains ongoing by the Vienna State Criminal Police North Branch.
