Vienna to host ernte. dank. festival in September

The ernte. dank. festival is scheduled to take place on September 12 and 13 at Heldenplatz in Vienna. Now in its third year, the event serves as a platform for agriculture, forestry, regional food, and traditional customs.

The festival features multiple stages, including a main stage for musical performances, a forestry arena showcasing professional skills such as rapid saw chain replacement, and a field stage providing insights into agricultural processes like potato production.

In recognition of the International Year of the Farmer, the event will debut a “Bäuerinnendorf” (Farmers' Village). This area will feature eight themed huts where female farmers from across Austria demonstrate various aspects of their work, including traditional crafts, regional food production, and alpine farming. Federal Farmer Irene Neumann-Hartberger noted that the village aims to highlight the contribution of women to food security and regional value creation.
