Culinary and cultural festivals in Vienna

Overview

Vienna is hosting several culinary and cultural festivals in September 2026.

Early in the month, the city will host the Long Night of the Vienna Markets on September 4, featuring live music and dance workshops across 17 fixed markets. This is followed by the European Street Food Festival on September 5 and 6 at the Wiener Stadthalle, which offers a global variety of international dishes.

Later in the month, the ernte. dank. festival will take place on September 12 and 13 at Heldenplatz. This third annual event focuses on agriculture, forestry, and regional food. A new feature for this year is the ‘Bäuerinnendorf’ (Farmers’ Village), where female farmers from across Austria demonstrate traditional crafts and regional food production to highlight their role in food security.
