Viet My Medical Investment JSC linked to bribery arrests in Phu Tho
Viet My Medical Investment JSC is at the center of a corruption investigation involving high-ranking officials in Phu Tho province. The Economic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security is investigating violations related to medical equipment procurement and tender processes.
Nguyen Huy Ngoc, the Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Province and former Director of the Provincial Department of Health, has been arrested and prosecuted for bribery. Le Dinh Thanh Son, the Director of Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital, also faces prosecution for similar charges. Investigations indicate that the violations involve contracts awarded to Viet My Medical Investment JSC.
At Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital alone, Viet My Medical Investment JSC won three tenders totaling nearly 180 billion VND. These include a 145.5 billion VND contract for linear accelerators and CT scanners, and a 25.25 billion VND contract for SPECT/CT imaging systems.
Records show that Viet My Medical Investment JSC experienced rapid capital growth, with its charter capital increasing from 20 billion VND in 2016 to 350 billion VND by early 2020. Between 2018 and 2026, the company participated in 276 tenders, winning 246 of them, with a total winning value reaching 5,947 billion VND.
