Vietnamese airlines expand international routes to Europe and India

Vietnamese airlines are significantly expanding their international networks to boost tourism and trade. Vietjet has launched new routes connecting Hanoi to Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Prague, Czech Republic. These flights, operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, run twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays and include a stopover in Almaty. This expansion marks Vietjet’s entry into the European market, facilitating travel for the Vietnamese community in Czechia and increasing connectivity between Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Europe.

Simultaneously, Vietnam Airlines is strengthening its presence in the Indian market. Starting November 3, 2026, the carrier will operate a direct Hanoi-Ahmedabad route four times per week. This addition brings the total number of Vietnam-India routes to seven, connecting major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The move aims to tap into the growing demand from Indian tourists, which saw a 33% increase in the first nine months of 2026.
