Vietnamese aviation international network expansion

Overview

Vietnamese airlines are expanding their international networks to increase connectivity for tourism and trade. Vietjet has entered the European Union market by launching twice-weekly flights connecting Hanoi to Prague, Czech Republic, via Almaty, Kazakhstan, using Airbus A330 widebody aircraft. This expansion is intended to support trade and investment while serving the Vietnamese community in Czechia.

Additionally, Vietnam Airlines is increasing its presence in India. Starting in November 2026, the carrier will operate a direct Hanoi-Ahmedabad route four times per week, bringing the total number of Vietnam-India routes to seven. This move responds to a 33% increase in demand from Indian tourists during the first nine months of 2026.
