Vietjet increases capacity for Vietnam National Day holiday

Vietnamese domestic tourism is expected to see a significant surge during the upcoming National Day holiday from August 26 to September 5, 2026. To meet this demand, Vietjet has announced plans to add 82,000 seats, equivalent to approximately 400 additional flights across domestic and international routes.

Key domestic routes will focus on connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with major tourism hubs such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Hue, and Da Lat. The airline is also increasing ground staff and resources at airports to facilitate smoother passenger processing.

According to the Traveloka SEA Index, Vietnamese travelers are prioritizing destinations near home, with a strong preference for coastal areas and cultural experiences. Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang remain the most booked destinations. Coastal locations like Phu Quoc, Con Dao, Hoi An, and Da Nang are seeing particularly high demand, with Phu Quoc leading in service booking growth.
