Vietjet opens direct Ho Chi Minh City–Colombo route, offers zero‑dong tickets

Vietjet Air will launch a direct flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Colombo on 18 August 2026. The service will operate three round‑trip flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with departures from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 18:15 (arriving Colombo at 21:50) and a return leaving Colombo at 23:00 (arriving Ho Chi Minh at 05:55 the next day.

To celebrate the new route, the airline is running a three‑day promotion from 21 to 23 July 2026, during which Eco‑class tickets can be booked for zero Vietnamese dong (taxes and fees excluded) and include 20 kg of free checked baggage. The promotional fare applies to flights operating between 18 August 2026 and 31 March 2027. Vietjet says the route will broaden tourism, family travel and commercial links between Vietnam and Sri Lanka and will allow passengers from Sri Lanka to connect to Vietjet’s wider Asia‑Pacific network.
