Vietnamese airlines expand international routes

On 16 August 2026, Vietravel Airlines officially launched the Ho Chi Minh City–Shenzhen route, becoming the only Vietnamese carrier to operate this specific direct service. The approximately 2-hour-and-50-minute flight aims to facilitate investment, trade, and tourism, serving as a corridor to China’s technology and manufacturing hub. The airline also expressed plans to integrate cultural experiences into the travel journey. Expanding its regional reach, Vietjet announced it will launch its first service at Clark International Airport in the Philippines on 10 November 2026. The new route will provide three weekly round-trip flights between Clark and Ho Chi Minh City. Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corp. noted the service is expected to strengthen international connectivity, serving as an alternative gateway to Vietnam for travelers from Central and Northern Luzon.
