Vietjet signs aviation technology and maintenance deals with Thales and CFM

Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet has entered into several strategic agreements with aerospace companies Thales and CFM International to support its expanding Asia-Pacific and global networks. The deals were announced in Paris during an official state visit to France by Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam.

Vietjet signed a repair-by-the-hour contract with Thales to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and component support for its Airbus fleet, which includes A320, A321, and A330 models. Additionally, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding focused on digital aviation, avionics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence-enhanced operations, exploring areas such as predictive analytics and secure cloud solutions.

Furthermore, Vietjet signed a letter of intent with CFM International to investigate the feasibility of developing in-country MRO capabilities for CFM’s Leap engines. This initiative aims to strengthen Vietnam’s aviation supply chain and support long-term operational needs.
