Vietnam's 2026 High School Graduation Exam Ends, 1.2 M Students Participated

The national high‑school graduation examination (THPT) for the 2026 school year concluded on 12 June after two days of testing. More than 1.2 million candidates across all 34 provinces completed the mandatory subjects—Vietnamese language and Mathematics—and two elective subjects chosen from a list that includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics‑Law, Informatics, Foreign Language and Technology. It was the largest cohort ever and the first to be fully administered under the 2018 General Education Programme.

The Ministry of Education reported that the exam proceeded safely and in accordance with regulations, with roughly 99.5 % participation in each mandatory subject. A total of 27 candidates were suspended on the first day for rule violations, primarily using mobile phones in the exam room; the final tally of disqualifications rose to 74 after the second day. Authorities noted no organized cheating schemes.

In the aftermath, the Gia Lai provincial police warned parents and students about fraudulent websites and QR‑code scams that mimic official result portals, urging a “do not click unknown links” policy.

The Ministry announced that official results will be published at 08:00 on 1 July 2026. Meanwhile, many students expressed relief and are already planning next steps, including preparation for V‑SAT or accelerated IELTS courses to improve their university admission prospects.
