Vietnam accelerates infrastructure build to support economic growth

Vietnam is undergoing a massive infrastructure expansion to support its rapid economic growth and its role as a major industrial hub in Asia. The country is accelerating the construction of highways, airports, ports, metro lines, and electrical networks.

A key project is the Long Thành International Airport near Ho Chi Minh City, which is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of 2026. However, the project faces challenges, including the need for new evaluations of certain lots to avoid delays and the necessity of connecting the airport to industrial zones and port complexes via efficient road and highway networks.

While Vietnam possesses high-performing terminals in areas like Hải Phòng and Cái Mép, the primary challenge is ensuring that infrastructure development and connectivity keep pace with the accelerating demands of the economy and industrial investment.
