Vietnam accelerates key infrastructure and transport projects

Major infrastructure projects are accelerating across several Vietnamese provinces to bolster regional connectivity and economic growth.

In Lao Cai, construction is intensifying on the road project running along the Red River, which connects the Ban Vuoc border gate to Y Ty. A key component, the 198.2-meter Ngoi Phat Bridge, is progressing rapidly; contractors aim to complete the structure by November 2026, three months ahead of the official February 2027 deadline.

In Quang Tri, efforts are focused on the coastal road project designed to connect the East-West Economic Corridor. This project aims to link economic, tourism, and service centers, with over 93% of the site area already handed over for construction. Additionally, the My Thuy Deep Water Port has begun operations, successfully receiving over 20 vessels in its first month. The port is expected to serve as a vital logistics link for goods traveling from southern Laos and northeastern Thailand through international border gates.
