Vietnam directs typhoon recovery, airport progress, and legal implementation

The Vietnamese government is managing several urgent domestic priorities, including disaster recovery, infrastructure development, and legislative implementation.

Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng has directed authorities to focus on recovering from the aftermath of Typhoon No. 4 and subsequent flooding. Key instructions include mobilizing forces to reach isolated households, providing food and essential supplies, and repairing damaged infrastructure. Specific emphasis is placed on restoring schools before the September 1st school year begins and ensuring electricity and transportation networks are functional.

Regarding major infrastructure, Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Túc has called for strict oversight of the Long Thành International Airport project. Authorities are tasked with assessing the progress of specific packages, particularly DATP3 and DATP4, to prevent delays and ensure the project meets its 2026 targets.

Additionally, the Prime Minister has ordered ministries to expedite the issuance of detailed regulations for 20 laws and resolutions recently passed by the National Assembly. This directive aims to prevent delays in implementing new legal frameworks and requires ministries to submit necessary regulatory lists to the Ministry of Justice by late August 2026.
