Vietnam adopts new National Security Strategy and economic targets
Vietnam has adopted a new National Security Strategy under Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW, signed by General Secretary and State President To Lam. The strategy emphasizes the absolute and direct leadership of the Communist Party and calls for an integrated approach that combines traditional and modern security methods to safeguard national interests.
In economic planning, Vietnam has set ambitious targets for the 2026–2030 period, including an average annual GDP growth of at least 10% and aiming for the green economy to account for 10% of GDP by 2030.
Additionally, the Vietnamese national team achieved success at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2026, winning one gold, two silver, and one honourable mention medal, placing the country among the top eight performing nations.
