Vietnam advances administrative reforms with streamlined vehicle inspection procedures and Ho Chi Minh City legal‑doc t

The Ministry of Construction announced a decision effective 22 July 2026 that revises six vehicle registration and inspection procedures and abolishes one, aiming to digitise services, cut processing time to as little as four working hours, and allow submissions online, in person or by post. Electronic documents are accepted via VNeID and VNeTraffic accounts, reducing paperwork.

In Ho Chi Minh City, officials reported that after one year of implementing the Party’s Resolution 66 on legal‑system reform, the city has processed 792 of 1,273 legal documents, achieving a 62 % completion rate. The effort includes reviewing decisions from municipal bodies, checking compliance, and addressing obstacles in planning, investment, land and construction matters.
