Vietnam advances circular packaging and green‑credit safeguards amid greenwashing concerns

C.P. Vietnam presented a range of circular‑packaging solutions for the feed‑farm‑food chain at the PRO Vietnam 2026 conference, highlighting bulk transport, size‑reduction design and recyclable materials to cut plastic waste and move toward 100 % recyclable food‑package by 2030.

The country’s green‑credit market has expanded rapidly, with 82 lenders issuing over VND 828 trillion in loans—a 4.6‑fold increase since 2017. Regulators warn that the growth raises the risk of greenwashing, calling for clearer project‑eligibility criteria, verification mechanisms and public disclosure to ensure incentives reach genuinely sustainable projects.
