Vietnam accelerates digital transformation through AI and infrastructure upgrades
Vietnam is accelerating its national digital transformation through strategic investments in artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and human capital. The government has approved the ‘National AI Talent Development Plan through 2030’ to build a workforce capable of meeting the demands of strategic technology industries.
In the legal sector, the ASEAN Law Forum in Hanoi is addressing the application of AI in law-making and judicial processes. Minister of Justice Hoang Thanh Tung emphasized the need for a shift from reactive to predictive legislation to ensure human-centric governance in the digital age.
Infrastructure development is also a priority, with a focus on multimodal transport to reduce road dependency and enhance logistics competitiveness. Additionally, the government has tightened drone surveillance following operational disruptions at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Localities like Can Tho are integrating AI into public administration to improve service efficiency, while Ho Chi Minh City is positioned to lead in testing new technological models.
