The Vietnamese Government has officially designated the extension of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to the Dong Nai administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport as an urgent construction project via Resolution No. 255/NQ-CP.

The project spans approximately 44.5 km and is divided into two segments: a 7.1 km section from Suoi Tien station to the Dong Nai administrative center, and a 36.4 km section connecting to Long Thanh International Airport. The line is designed for a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

The Dong Nai People's Committee has been tasked with leading the project's implementation under the 2025 Construction Law, focusing on public-private partnership (PPP) regulations, land clearance, and ensuring social stability during compensation processes. Land clearance is projected to be completed by the end of 2026. The Ministry of Finance will oversee project supervision, while the Ministry of Construction will provide technical guidance to ensure safety and quality standards.
