Vietnam aims double‑digit GRDP growth in Bắc Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City by 2026

In the first half of 2026, Bắc Ninh province recorded a GRDP growth rate of about 10.6%, ranking sixth nationally, and attracted roughly $9.86 billion in investment, including 177 new foreign‑direct investment projects worth over $708 million. The province’s export‑import turnover is projected at $106.4 billion, and state budget revenues rose 30.2% to more than VND 54.1 trillion, supporting its goal of achieving at least 12.5% GRDP growth by the end of 2026. Cultural achievements such as a UNESCO heritage listing for the Dong Ho folk painting were also highlighted.

Ho Chi Minh City saw its GRDP increase 8.55% in the same period—the highest six‑month growth in a decade—driven by an 11.1% rise in industrial production. Total investment reached about VND 309,769 billion, up 9.9%, while FDI inflows summed $6.8 billion, a 114% jump, with 888 newly approved projects. The city is expanding its high‑tech sector, focusing on AI, semiconductor manufacturing, international finance, data centers and green economy initiatives, including a government‑approved 195‑hectare enlargement of the Saigon Hi‑Tech Park.
