Vietnam airline tickets drop to as low as 38,000 đồng on popular routes
Domestic airlines in Vietnam are offering base fares as low as 38,000 đồng (about US$1.6) on routes such as Ho Chi Minh City – Phú Quốc, with other short‑haul flights to Nha Trang and Da Nang advertised below 100,000 đồng. After mandatory taxes, airport fees and security charges, the final price of a one‑way ticket typically rises to around 650,000–700,000 đồng.
The price declines represent a 30‑50 % fall from peak summer rates earlier in the year, driven by lower jet‑fuel costs and airlines expanding capacity. Vietjet, Vietravel Airlines and Vietnam Airlines Group have added seats and flights, with Vietnam Airlines planning to supply about 5.5 million domestic seats through mid‑August, a 3 % increase over the same period last year. Promotional campaigns, including “zero‑đồng” ticket offers, are further stimulating demand during the peak travel season.
