Vietnam Airlines lifts flight frequencies to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan
Vietnam Airlines announced a major increase in service to Northeast Asia as part of its 2026 network plan. From Hanoi, the airline will raise weekly flights to Taipei from seven to 11 and to Osaka from seven to 11 between 26 Oct and 30 Nov, then to 14 from 1 Dec. From Da Nang, frequencies to Seoul (Incheon) will rise to 14 per week starting 1 July, while flights to Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka (Kansai) will increase to 11 and five weekly flights respectively. The carrier is also offering promotional round‑trip fares on the new schedules.
The moves respond to sustained high demand for tourism, business and family travel between Vietnam and these markets. South Korea recorded over 2.16 million arrivals in the first half of 2026, while Japan and Taiwan remain key bilateral tourism sources. Vietnam Airlines targets 27.73 million passengers and a 12 % revenue rise in 2026, expanding its international footprint alongside other domestic carriers that are also adding capacity for the summer travel season.
