Vietnam airlines slash summer ticket fares amid peak travel season

Domestic airlines in Vietnam have reduced summer ticket prices as the high‑season holiday period approaches. Vietjet announced a summer promotion cutting 20% off Deluxe, SkyBoss and Business class fares across its network and is increasing domestic capacity by more than 30% compared with the previous month. Vietnam Airlines Group, which includes Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO, plans to supply about 5.5 million seats on domestic routes through mid‑August and is offering promotional fares that now cover roughly 40% of all seats for sale.

Price drops are evident on major routes. A round‑trip Hanoi‑Ho Chi Minh ticket that cost 6‑7 million VND in early April is now typically priced around 4‑4.5 million VND. Hanoi‑Da Nang fares have fallen from 4‑5 million VND to 2‑3 million VND, and Hanoi‑Phú Quốc, previously 8‑9 million VND, is now about 4‑5 million VND. Similar reductions are seen on Ho Chi Minh‑Phú Quốc routes, with early‑booking tickets as low as 1.5‑2 million VND. Airlines cite increased seat capacity, heightened competition and a roughly 26% decline in Jet A1 fuel prices (from about $210 to $150 per barrel) as the main drivers of the fare cuts. The lower prices are expected to boost domestic tourism demand during the summer peak.
