Vietnam Airlines wet‑leases Cebu Pacific A320neo for summer domestic routes

Vietnam Airlines is operating an Airbus A320neo owned by Cebu Pacific under a wet‑lease agreement from 15 July to 7 September 2026. The aircraft, based at Tan Son Nhat Airport, is used on domestic round‑trip services between Ho Chi Minh City and Cam Ranh, Phú Quốc, Vinh and Đà Nẵng. Tickets are sold through Vietnam Airlines’ system, but the pilots and cabin crew are supplied by Cebu Pacific.

The airline says the short‑term lease is a normal response to the summer travel peak and to offset capacity shortfalls caused by fleet maintenance and a shortage of Pratt & Whitney engines affecting several Vietnamese carriers. Wet leasing allows quick addition of hundreds of seats without waiting for new aircraft deliveries or crew training, though it carries higher costs and is typically limited to a few weeks or months.
