Vietnam Airports Corp invests 39.5 trillion VND in Long Thanh Airport
The Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) has allocated roughly 39.5 trillion VND to Phase 1 of the Long Thanh International Airport project, representing about 94 % of the company's total value of unfinished basic construction. In its second‑quarter financial report, ACV posted record results: net profit rose 29 % to more than 3.35 trillion VND, revenue reached over 6.3 trillion VND, and six‑month net profit approached 6.7 trillion VND. Total assets grew to 94 trillion VND, bank deposits to 10.8 trillion VND, while total debt fell 5 % to 9.2 trillion VND. The Ministry of Construction has appointed ACV as the lead investor for Phase 2, which will add a new passenger terminal, a third runway and related infrastructure, aiming to raise the airport’s capacity to about 50 million passengers annually.
These developments position Long Thanh as a major future hub for Vietnam’s aviation sector and reflect ACV’s strong financial performance and expanding role in national airport infrastructure.
