Vietnam and Austria discuss strengthening diplomatic and party cooperation

Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vũ Lê Thái Hoàng met with Elke Kahr, the Mayor of Graz and a former Vice President of the Communist Party of Austria. During the meeting, Ambassador Hoàng congratulated Mayor Kahr on her re-election and discussed the socio-economic achievements of Vietnam under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Looking toward the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Austria in 2027, the Ambassador proposed increasing theoretical exchanges and governance experience between the two parties. He also suggested sharing historical documents and artifacts for display at the Vietnam Communist Party Museum in 2030.

Proposed areas for cooperation between the City of Graz and Vietnamese partners include science and technology, smart urban management, social housing, education, vocational training (specifically nursing), tourism, and heritage conservation. Mayor Kahr expressed admiration for Vietnam’s development and congratulated the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
