Vietnam and Belarus strengthen military political education cooperation

Vietnam and Belarus are strengthening their defense cooperation, focusing on the exchange of experience in military political and ideological education. During a meeting in Minsk, Nguyen Trong Nghia, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and Leonid Kasinsky, Chief of the Main Ideological Directorate of Belarus’ Defence Ministry, discussed expanding bilateral ties.

The two nations aim to implement several priority areas of cooperation, including high-level delegation exchanges, collaboration between different military branches, and training for military personnel and specialists. There is also a focus on fostering exchanges among young officers and disseminating the history of the traditional friendship between the two countries.

This cooperation follows the elevation of the Vietnam-Belarus relationship to a strategic partnership in May 2025. Nghia noted that defense cooperation has become a fundamental pillar of the bilateral relationship, supported by both defense ministries through practical results in military communications, press, and information work.
