Vietnam and Bulgaria deepen tourism partnership
Vietnam reported a surge in Russian visitors, with arrivals nearly tripling in the first half of 2026 and the country capturing a 7.8% share of the Russian package‑tour market, overtaking Thailand and China. The government highlighted community‑based tourism villages, the launch of Halal‑certified services, and a shift toward circular tourism that aims to restore ecosystems and support local culture.
Tourism authorities also noted milestones such as Hanoi welcoming its five‑millionth international visitor, a 29% rise in tourism service revenue in June, and Phú Quốc’s preparations to host global events ahead of the 2027 APEC summit. Vietnam and Bulgaria are seeking to translate these trends into more substantive, sustainable cooperation between the two nations.
